Backgammon 3D, a
new dimension online
3D or three dimensional has almost become like the Holy
Grail to Television and movie companies across the globe. The pursuit
of this next generation of dimensional entertainment has left many an
executive jobless and many an engineer clueless.
The experiment to find true 3 D has failed quite convincingly, the
idea of sitting in a cinema with a special red and green lens pair of
spectacles on your nose may be appealing to some but to the majority
it just doesn't work. The latest innovation for television is Sky's
High Definition television which has not found favour with many of the
presenters as they show them up in their true light, warts and all and
we do mean warts.
However, all is not lost because 3 D seems to have been produced
relatively successfully online, and one of the games that have brought
this success to a head is backgammon.
Backgammon online lends itself to a classic rendition of the
perception of 3D with the possibility of being able to look around an
image a full 360 degrees. Indeed in the 3D version of backgammon you
can rotate the board from opposition to opposition to affect this
process. This coupled together with authentic sound effects of dice
rolling and the slapping of checkers makes a realistic representation
of an on line game becoming real, the very object of 3 D.
The game is played in the same way as other backgammon games the rules
and the tactics haven't changed; it is just purely the appearance of
the board and the game play.
Requirements for the game are fairly basic a Computer AI Windows
95/98/NT/Me/2000/XP300 MHz processor and a Mouse.
It is recommended to search through the various companies that off 3 D
backgammon to find the one that you want to play, as you will need to
check the compatibility of you PC.
